We’re excited to share that Pet Food Bank is now settled into our new home—and what a difference it’s made. With more space to store and organize pet food, our monthly distribution process has become smoother and more efficient for the communities we serve in Chapala and beyond.

Even better, our volunteer team has grown to over 20 amazing individuals. Together, we can now repack an entire month’s supply of food in under two hours! And yes… we still manage to laugh, share stories, swap restaurant tips, and solve the world’s problems while we work. 😊

We are deeply grateful to a generous local animal advocate who has provided this space free of charge. Because of this, more of your donations go directly where they belong—feeding pets.

Looking Back at 2025

Last year, your support helped countless families keep their pets fed, safe, and at home—right where they belong.

We also stepped in when urgent situations arose in our community: A woman caring for over 30 cats while struggling with mental health challenges. With the help of neighbors and local support, she is receiving assistance—and we are providing food while many of the cats are being safely rehomed.

A case of animal neglect where an individual could no longer provide for multiple dogs and animals. Community members stepped in to raise awareness, and we are supplying food while a long-term solution is being worked out.

These are the moments when your donations make an immediate and meaningful difference.

Education Matters

Our mission goes beyond feeding pets. In 2025, we continued providing basic pet care education through handouts and group discussions. Helping families understand proper nutrition and care creates lasting change—and we’re committed to expanding these efforts in 2026.

Transparent & Accountable

We believe you deserve to know exactly how your support is used:

  • We receive a monthly donation of pet food and purchase additional food at discounted rates.

  • Donations are processed through a registered nonprofit, allowing for tax-deductible receipts

  • Our facility, storage, and packaging space are fully donated

  • We recycle bags whenever possible, purchasing supplies only a few times per year

  • We employ a local high school student to assist with heavy lifting during repacking

Bottom line: We keep overhead low so more pets get fed

Partners Who Make It Possible

We couldn’t do this alone.

Our heartfelt thanks to:

Friends of the Animals provides a monthly donation of pet food

Foodbank Lakeside provides distribution services to many of our families

Poco a Poco provides distribution of petfood to the families they serve in Mexcala and San Pedro

CreSer provides distribution of petfood to the families they serve

Tails of Mexico when holding clinics in our area we partner to provide pet food to the families who come to sterilize their pets.

And most importantly… You—our donors and volunteers. You are the reason this mission continues to grow.
